Lynn C. Ameigh, Jr.
Age 88, of Townsend, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Junior was born on October 20, 1934, the son of Lynn, Sr. and Genevieve Ameigh.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife Ida May Ameigh; children, Linda, Joseph, and Jonathon Ameigh; brothers and sisters, Lee, Frank, Don, Mary, Jerome, Jack, Velma and Charlotte; and great-grandsons, Lucas and RyLee.
He is survived by his 4 children, Kathleen Hartford of North Carolina, Michael (Brittany) Ameigh of Rock Stream, James (Janet “Nurse Betty”) Ameigh of Sugar Hill, and Susan Farr (James Augustine) of Hector; daughter-in-law, Marian Ameigh of Watkins Glen; brothers and sisters, Nelson Ameigh, Milton Ameigh, Peggy Ramos, Judy Wolverton, and Richard Ameigh; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Arvilla (Dave) Wilson of Phelps, Donald (Denise) Friends of Willseyville; and Henry (Mary) Friends of Elmira; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Lynn worked as a heavy equipment operator for Schuyler County Highway Department. He and his wife also owned and operated the Townsend Grocery Store for 14 years. He enjoyed collecting horses, John Wayne memorabilia, building wood crafts, and riding his Four-Wheeler and Zero-Turn lawnmower with his cat Mollie.
The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Friday (December 9) from 4:00pm-6:00pm; followed by a funeral service at 6:00pm. Burial will be at Sugar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Schuyler Humane Society (SchuylerHumane.org).
