Barbara Leahey

Barbara S. Leahey, Age 80, of State Route 414, Hector, NY, died Friday, February 23, 2007, at Schuyler Hospital SNF, Montour Falls, NY. Survived by sons, Patrick J. Leahey of Brick, NJ, Michael J. (Janette) Leahey of Seattle, WA, Peter D. Leahey of Seattle, WA, Paul R. Leahey of Valois, NY; daughter, Carol L. (Joseph) Chiarella of Malta, NY; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha S. (Frank) Hauser of Horseheads, NY, and Nancy S. (Paul) Baratier of DePeyster, NY; and brother, Arthur R. Smith of Parish, NY. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Leahey on March 14, 2002. Barbara was a member of the Hector Presbyterian Church, The Ladies Afternoon Club, and volunteer of Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary. She worked as a R.N. and was Director of Nursing for James Square Nursing Home in Syracuse for several years. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, from 1-2 p.m. at the Hector Presbyterian Church, with a memorial service following at 2 p.m., the Rev. Cynthia Harvey officiating.
