Bonnie W. Covington

Age 83, of Spencer, NY, passed away October 23, 2024.

She was born in Bryan, OH, the daughter of Lyle and Myrtle Voorheis. 

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Friday (Nov. 1) from 12pm-1pm; followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm at the funeral home; and burial at Hector Union Cemetery in Burdett.

She is survived by her children, Woody (Peewee) Wood, Filip (Megan) Wood, Stefani (David) Tucker, Helena Childress, Jessica (Randy) Byars, Meggin (Jason) Pitcher, Yvonne (D.R.) Price, and Teresa Wood (Frankie); brother Melvin Voorheis; sister Sandra Christiansen; grandchildren, Kara, Frankie, Kacie, Niki, April, Heath, Heather, Christina, Russell, Zoey, Kai, Evan, Frankie,  Brittney, Gennie, Gavin, Randall, Leeza, Patricia, Aaron, CJ, Cherokee, Koda, Anna, Candice, and Michael; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Bonnie raised a large family. In her extra time, she found joy in crafting, cooking, and canning, always creating something special for loved ones. Bonnie also served as a Home Health aide, showing her compassion to help others. She enjoyed traveling, and her adventures out west brought her great memories and enjoyment. Additionally, she also loved genealogy research and how it connected her to her family roots.
