Carolyn Voorheis

Carolyn M. Voorheis 

Age 84, of Burdett, NY, passed away September 9, 2024. 

She was born July 22, 1940, the daughter of Kenneth and Irene (Knapp) Bush. Carolyn worked as a secretary for Hanson, Inc. (B.R. DeWitt), McPherson Builders, and the Review and Express newspaper. She was a lifelong member of the Reynoldsville United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Irene (Knapp) Bush; son Michael Voorheis; sister Nancy Voorheis; and brother-in-law, Arvine Pike. 

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Voorheis; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jeffery McCormick; sister, Doris Pike, and brother-in law, Keith T. Voorheis, all of Burdett; four grandchildren, Danielle (Derek) McCormick of Okinawa, Japan, Travis (Mariah) McCormick of Odessa, Miranda (Tim) Crawn of Montour Falls, and Brennan Voorheis of Montour Falls; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Wednesday (September 18th) from 12pn-2pm; followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm; and burial at the Union Cemetery of Hector in Burdett. A reception will follow at the Reynoldsville United Methodist Church for family and friends.
