Age 89, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Friday, April 4, from 4:00pm-7:30pm; and Saturday from 9:30am-12:00pm. A private service will be held at the crematory at the convenience of the family. Chanchalben was born in Gujarat, India on July 18, 1924, the daughter of the late, Bhikhabhai and Bhikiben Patel. She was also predeceased by her husband, Babubhai Patel. She is survived by her 8 children: Usha (Anil) Patel of Virginia, Rashmi (Jayantilal) Patel of Mississippi, Harshad (Rakhsha) Patel of Texas, Vasu (Nitin) Patel of Arizona, Manju (Mahesh) Patel of the U.K., Kala Patel of North Carolina, Ila (Haskmuk) Patel of the U.K. and Neela (Bharat) of Watkins Glen, NY. Along with her children, she is survived by 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed the Bhagavad Gita and many other Hindu spiritual works.
