WATKINS GLEN: "Lil Ole Gunmaker" Age 71, passed away December 30, 2011. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 10am-2pm; with a funeral service at the funeral home following at 2:00pm; burial at Lakeview Cemetery. Chuck is survived by his wife, Cherie; children, Larry (Nancy) Kennison, William (Linda) Kennison, Deborah Simpson, Robert Simpson Jr. (Tiffany), Kenneth (Danielle) Cummings, Lowell “L.J.” Cummings Jr.; step-mother, Lorraine Sheesley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Barb) Sheesley, Nancy Boylan, Billy (Bobbie) Sheesley, John (Jackie) Sheesley, Steven (Mary) Sheesley, and Terry Lynn (Eric) Herr; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Chuck, known as the “Lil Ole Gunmaker”, raced the number 9x car for over 50 years on dirt tracks all across the country. He worked for 20 years at Ithaca Gun, and later Mickey Marollo Racing Engines in Pine City, Stapleton Engines in Elmira, and the Painted Post Car Mart. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004; or Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, c/o “Schuyler Health Foundation, Inc.”, PO Box 828, Montour Falls, NY 14865.
