Craig N. Gallow
Age 51, of Hector NY passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 after a long and hard fight from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident on January 10, 2020.
Craig graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1988. He pursued his college education in Criminal Justice, and graduated from the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy in 1992.
Craig served his community as a Schuyler County Deputy Sheriff, retiring as a Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Department after 26 years of service. After retirement Craig held the position as Director of Security at Watkins Glen International Racetrack.
Craig was an avid hunter and fisherman from a young age. In later years he enjoyed gardening, caring for his fruit trees, and his land that he was so proud to own. He was always listening to either country music, or a baseball game on his headphones as he mowed the lawn, pruned and sprayed the tress, or while cutting firewood. He was always a devoted NY Yankees fan.
Craig’s greatest love was for his family, especially his two granddaughters. He always cared for his community. He was tough, yet tender, strong, but humble.
He will be sorely missed.
Craig is survived by his wife Melissa Gallow of Hector; son Brad (Sarah) Gallow of Hector; daughter Kaylin (Anthony) Teed of Hector; granddaughters Leah & Mya Teed of Hector; mother & stepfather Judy (Harold) Forney of Valois; brother Richard (Penny) Gallow of Claremont, NH; sister Heather (Yan) Cote of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister Nicole (Steve) Ryan of Valois; Father and mother in- law, David & Linda Ryan of Odessa; sister & brother in law Becky (Roger) Willis of Watkins Glen; many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his daughter Allison Gallow, father Raymond Gallow, paternal grandparents Richard & Rada Gallow, and maternal grandparents Otis & Gladys Bush.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday (July 20th) from 4pm-7pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen. Funeral services and burial at Seneca Union cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Robert Packer Hospital, Dr. Kim Rickert, the staff at Schuyler Hospital, Dr. Ben Saks, the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department, Family, and Friends for all of the care, prayers, and support that was given to Craig and his family over the last 18 months.
