David Heichel

Age 61, of Montour Falls, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 18, 2010.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th, Watkins Glen, on Tuesday from 3-5pm; funeral services will immediately follow at 5:00pm; Rev. Richard Evans officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Heichel; children, Jenna (John) Niedermaier of Odessa, David (Kristen) Heichel of Montour Falls, Daniel (Elissa) Heichel of Jacksonville, NC, Jeffrey (Ryan) Heichel, of Odessa; brothers and sisters, Bonnie Dickinson, of Corning, Dale (Betty) Heichel of Odessa, Bob (Joan) Heichel of Mansfield, PA., and Marion Godwin of Corning; 8 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.

David, known by his friends and family as “Wally” was a devoted father to his family and children. He loved to hunt and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the Mechanics Club in Montour Falls. And, worked as a machinist for Shepard-Niles for over 25 years.
