Donald R. Brown
Age 77, of Logan, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Schuyler Hospital.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Monday (Feb. 7th) from 2-4pm; a funeral service will immediate follow at 4:00pm; Rev. George J. Norton officiating. A committal service with military honors will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at the Hector Presbyterian Cemetery.
He was born on February 12, 1933 in Elmira, NY. He attended Watkins Glen High school, served four years in the US Navy, was a Webelo Leader in the Boy Scouts, member of the Hi-Liters Country Band, and past member of the VLH Fire Department. Don retired on May 1, 1995 from Shepard-Niles, after 44 years of service. He married Barbara Burnett on April 14, 1956. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his beloved children, Lori (Robert) Allen, Gary (Lisa) Brown; and his cherished grandchildren, Joshua Brown of Logan, Melinda Brown (Kenny Klee) of Erin, NY, and Philip Brown of Logan; also surviving is his sister, Patricia Barrett of Sayre, PA; sister-in-law, Nona Schimizzi, and brother-in-law, Wallace Burnett. Don was also looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
