Age 90, of Burdett, NY, passed away March 4, 2022.
The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Friday (March 18) from 4pm-6pm; followed by a funeral service at 6pm; burial with military honors will be held on Saturday (March 19) at 10:00am at West Lodi Cemetery, 1804 Lodi Station Road, Lodi, NY.
Don was born in Valois, NY on December 31, 1931, the son of Charles Ezra Kelly and Helen Kelly. Don retired from the New York State DOT as a Bridge Repair Supervisor. He honorably served in the United States Air Force, serving in Greenland, Iceland, and Newfoundland. Don served as a Scout Master for many years in Schuyler County, taking his Troops on countless adventures, hikes and even trips to Canada.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Adelaide Garland, brother Charles “Pete” Kelly, and infant brother Ezra Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 68 ½ years, Priscilla; four children, Donna (Donald) Smith of Texas, Keith (Diane) Kelly of Texas, Kenneth (Char) Kelly of Minnesota, and Emery (Darlene) Kell
y of Tyrone; 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Burdett Fire Department, PO Box 238, Burdett, NY; or Tyrone Fire Department, PO Box 69, Tyrone, NY 14887.
