She was predeceased by her husband, Rexford R. Smith, parents, Lincoln G. and Edna (Hakes) Wager; sisters, Rosalind Maine, June Elizabeth Wager and Mary Ellen Wager; and granddaughter and son-in-law, Amber and Eugene Brockway.

Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen and was also a Sunday School teacher there for many years. The family would appreciate memorials in her memory, in lieu of flowers, to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830 or the First Presbyterian Church, 520 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891.

Dorothy will always be remembered as a generous, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who gave that love to all unconditionally. Her life was spent caring for others, always putting them before herself, and never a complaining word heard. Simple things made her happy such as rides in the country, eating out, watching “soaps”, and family gatherings. She will be greatly missed, but memories will sustain us forever.
