Dotha Sistrunk

Dotha (Dodi) Louise Sistrunk, 69, of Live Oak, FL, formerly of Thompson, PA, died October 17, 2007 at her sister’s home in Greene, NY from liver cancer. She was the widow of George F. Sistrunk Sr. who died in 1993.

Born in Jackson, PA she was the daughter of the late Delbert E. and H. Romayne Myers Barrows. She graduated from Harford High School.

She worked in dewing factories and home health care and loved collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia, penguins and seashells. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and siblings.

Surviving are her children: Kenneth (Brenda) Barrows, of Emporia, KS, Randy (Norma) Sistrunk, Elmira, NY, Michael Sistrunk, of Mantua, NJ, Tammy (Daniel) Ryals, of Day, FL; 5 brothers, Thomas Barrows of Clifford, PA, James Barrows of Beverly Hills, FL, Lynn (Lillian) Barrows of Clarks Summit, PA, Martin (Diane) Barrows, of Marriottsville, MD, Merle (Sherry) Barrows of Hazel Green, AL; 4 sisters, Hazel (Fred) Howell of Gelatt, PA, Berneice (Bob) Butler of Sprague, WA, Barbara Beyer of Aumsville, OR, Patricia (William) Wyckoff of Greene, NY; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy and Tara Barrows, Scott Sistrunk, Ashley and Amy Black; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son George (Skip) Sistrunk Jr in 1974, a granddaughter Heather Barrows in 1999, and a sister Ethel Barrows in 1984.

Cremation will take place and a burial at the Gelatt Cmetery in Gelatt, PA. A celebration of her life will be held for the family and close friends Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the home of her sister Hazel Howell in Gelatt, PA.
