Edward I. Flood

Age 93, of Hector, NY, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Seneca View, in Montour Falls, NY.

The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Wednesday, from 1:00pm-2:00pm; a funeral service will directly follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home; Rev. Cynthia Harvey will officiate. Private burial and committal services will be held at the Hector Presbyterian Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.

Ed is survived by his daughter and son in law, Marcia and Barney VanHorn, of Watkins Glen; a brother, Matt (Sally) Flood, of Interlaken, NY; three beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan and Kristin VanHorn; brother-in-law, Myron Putnam, of Oneida, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Matt and Florence; wife Irene, and brothers and sisters, Katherine Putman, James Flood, John Flood and Jane Flood.

Born in Hector on February 9, 1914, he was the son of Matt and Florence Fowler Flood. Ed worked at the Norbud Farm in Hector, growing fruit and raising cattle and sheep for nearly 50 years. He enjoyed reading and talking about history and all things old. Memorials in his memory may be made to the Valois-Logan-Hector Fire Dept. or Southern Tier Hospice.
