Age 82, of Pine City, NY, passed away on April 4, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Elizabeth was born on December 30, 1934 in Montour Falls, NY, the youngest child of Elmer and Frances Wood. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1953. She was a past member and past matron of the Eastern-Star (Elmira Heights Lodge).
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents; husband Merton Davenport; brother, John Wood; sister, Evelyn Beckwith; and sons-in-law, Billy Newsom and Tony Beller. She is survived by seven daughters, Phyllis (Hayes) McElroy of Louisiana, Lynnette Turner of Troy, PA, Terry Davenport of Erin, NY, Deborah Beller of Wisconsin, Nancy Newsom of Louisiana, Lisa Mood of Troy, PA, and Patricia Davenport of Pine City; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Monday, April 10, from 4pm-6pm; followed by a funeral service at 6pm at the funeral home. A committal service and burial will be held Tuesday at 11am at Lockwood Cemetery, Lockwood, NY.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
