Age 72, of Rock Stream, NY, passed away after a battle with cancer on August 17, 2016. A GRAVESIDE MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT GLENWOOD CEMETERY IN WATKINS GLEN ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd at 3:00pm. Ellen graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1962. She worked at Borg-Warner in Ithaca until retiring in 1995. She was a member and volunteer for the Women of the Moose #1401 Chapter in Montour Falls, and member of VFW Post #2674 of Watkins Glen, and American Legion Post #660 of Dundee. Ellen was predeceased by her son, Todd Pike; mother, Lucille Thorpe; siblings, Donald Thorpe, Larry Thorpe, Joanne Reasor, and Phyllis Thorpe; sister-in-law, Jeanette Thorpe; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carlton and Gert McClain; and brother-in-law, Thomas McClain. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Merrield “Mick” McClain; sons, Edd Pike of Rock Stream, and Michael (Jennifer) McClain of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Marlea “Marty” (Mario) Craft of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Gene Thorpe of Belleview, FL; brother-in-law, David (Bernice) McClain of Milton, DE; sisters-in-law, Melody (Clifford) Hartford of Stafford, VA; Joyce Thorpe of Watkins Glen, Debbie McClain of Hanford, CA; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
