Glenna Marie Nichols Dann, 86, of Hammondsport, NY, passed away peacefully at Fred & Harriet Taylor Skilled Nursing Center on September 17, 2025. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and her presence will be deeply missed.
Glenna is survived by her daughters; Diane (Lloyd) Young, Bath NY (Previously of Almond NY). Jennifer (Sean Johnson) Dann, Los Angeles CA. Grandchildren; Megan (Tom) Clenshaw, Penn Yan, NY. Vincent Long, Hammondsport, NY. Glenn (Mary) Sherwood, Rushville, NY. Sully (Paris) Sherwood, Alfred NY. Katelyn (Clayton) Lounsberry, Syracuse, NY. Casey Young, District Heights, MD; and great-grandchildren Winry and Parker.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years Raymond E. Dann Jr. Her beloved Son Michael D. Dann of Tyrone NY. Her sister Harriet Harris of AZ, and her father and mother Glenn and Marion Nichols of Weston NY.
Glenna enjoyed her childhood immensely. Especially working with her father in the fields and taking care of the cows. She loved teaching her younger sister Harriet what she learned in school that day. In her younger years She enjoyed working at Dundee bank, and later, doing the book work for Ray Dann’s Town and Country Trading Post, which she did for most of her life. She married Raymond E. Dann Jr. May 2, 1964. She had three beautiful children. Glenna loved to go for rides in the country, pointing out her old homesteads, visiting with family and friends, antiquing, stopping to eat at diners, getting ice cream and reminiscing about her younger years. Glenna was a graduate of Bradford Central School and was the Alumni President for many years. She was very passionate about the preservation of the 6th Nations One Room School House and attended the annual picnic for 86 years. She also was long standing member of the Tyrone Methodist Church.
A small funeral for close family and friends is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday October 5th at the Tyrone United Methodist Church, directly followed by the burial at Tyrone Union Cemetery. Then back to the church for refreshments.
In lieu of Flowers please consider a donation in Glenna’s memory to the Tyrone United Methodist Church. Or to the Preservation of the 6th Nations One Room School House. Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home of Watkins Glen is assisting with arrangements.
