Greeba Conklin

Greeba was born May 12, 1925 in Barrington, NY the daughter of the late Aaron and Hazel (Martin) Hays. She is survived by her sons Gary (Alice) Conklin and Gregory (Joetta) Conklin and four grandchildren: Jessica Conklin, Jennifer Conklin, Jaclyn Conklin and Andrew Conklin. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Richard Haight and two cousins: Robert Canfield and Richard Bailey, along with many nieces and nephews.

Greeba was predeceased by George, her loving husband of 62 years in 2011, along with brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Norma (Palmer) Hays, sister and brother-in-law Jeanetta and Delbert Crocker, sister Aileen Haight and nephews Carl Hays and Keith Haight.

Greeba was a graduate of Dundee Central School. She was employed by Mercury aircraft in Hammondsport, NY. Greeba loved watching her grandchildren participate in school activities. She enjoyed hosting family dinners where everyone would gather around her table and tell stories of their adventures.

She was a lover of animals, having many pets over the years, both as a child and an adult. She has enjoyed feeding and watching birds later in her life.

The family would like to thank the staff on 2B and Dr. Singh at Guthrie Corning Hospital for their care and compassion during this time.

There will be a celebration of Greeba's life at a later date. Burial will be alongside her husband, George, in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Reading Center, NY.
