Havens, Hugh Thomas (Tommy)

Age 66 of Watkins Glen, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Cayuga Medical Center.  Tommy was born on September 24, 1956 in Montour Falls, NY, to Earl and Lena Havens.  Tommy lived in the Schuyler County area his whole life, making his home with The Arc of Schuyler since 1982. 

Tommy is well known by many people around the community and by those working in local businesses. Whenever you would see Tommy out and about, he was always laughing, smiling, and joking with people.  He enjoyed walking around town and stopping to chat, especially going to the neighborhood laundromat to socialize.  He was an active member of the knitting/crochet club in Watkins Glen.  You could always catch him at home with his ball of yarn, making something new! 

Tommy is survived by his brother and sister, David Havens and Joyce Havens, and his niece, Keri Leach. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Doug Havens. Tommy is also survived by his entire family at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, who will miss him greatly, as well as countless friends.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 12:00PM.  A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at 1:00PM, with interment immediately following at the Montour Falls Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Tommy’s name be made to The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, 203 Twelfth Street, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
