Age 93, formerly of Watkins Glen and Odessa, NY, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY. Ione was born on November 10, 1920 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth Forrest. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles G. Haramis of Watkins Glen, NY and her second husband, Dr. Francis “Pete” C. Ward of Odessa, NY. After his death, she moved from Odessa to Watkins Glen. She was also predeceased by her brother, Eugene E. Forrest of Binghamton, New York. She is survived by her three children, Charles E. Haramis of Newport News, VA, G. Michael Haramis (Nina) of Mitchellville, MD, and Georgia J. (Matthew) Perry of Mitchellville, MD; five grandchildren Lieutenant Colonel Jason M. Norton of Clarksville TN, Oliver H. Perry of Linthicum, MD, Christopher B. Perry of Baltimore, MD, Christina F. Haramis of Bowie MD, and Travis B. Haramis of Annapolis, MD; and two great grandchildren Kieran R. Norton of Clarksville TN, and Jewel T. Perry of Linthicum, MD. A private service and burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Watkins Glen will take place at the convenience of the family.
