Age 80, of Watkins Glen, passed away in the comfort of her home on January 14, 2018. Irene worked at the Watkins Glen Central School for 25 years as a Custodian and retired in 2000, and at the First Presbyterian Church in Watkins Glen since 1974. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, Watkins Glen; Rev. Cara Milne will officiate. She is survived by her husband, John Burgess; son, David Burgess; canine friend, Harry; special niece, Debbie (Davis) Nunn; sister-in-law, Gloria Slater; nieces, Amy Lynn and Michelle; and very special friend, Rob Rossiter. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Jane Kissell, Melissa Kissell, and Maria Torres.
