James “Matthew” Floyd

Age 32, of Lakemont, NY and Palestine, TX, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY.

Matt is survived by his loving companion, Lori Bernagozzi of Lakemont; parents, John and Charlotte Floyd and sisters, Amber and Rachael Floyd, all of Palestine, TX. Also, nieces Isabelle Floyd and Natalie “Olivia” Brackens. Matt formerly was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps, serving 5 years in Okinawa, Japan and 29 Palms, California as a micro computer repair technician. Matt currently worked at US Salt Company in Watkins Glen.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Wednesday from 6-7pm. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Also, a memorial service will be held in Texas at a later date.
