Jerry E. Gregory
Age 83, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen J. Gregory; children, Alan E. Gregory and Susan D. (Gregory) Larson; brother, Malcolm (Nancy) Gregory; four grandchildren, Kristofer L., Kendra D., and Katherine J. Larson, Kody E. Gregory; special niece Katherine C. Smyth (Joseph Dorsey), and several other nieces. He was predeceased by his grandson, Kyle E. Gregory (2003), and son-in-law Kenneth “Lard” Larson (2011). Mr. Gregory retired from the Watkins Glen Central School District after 31 years of service. The last position he held with the District was 8th Grade Science teacher at the former Watkins Glen Middle School. He was also Watkins Glen Village Clerk for a number of years after his retirement from the School District. He was a member of the Glen City “A” Bowling League, and served as secretary/treasurer for many years; a Regular Member of the Mechanics Club in Montour Falls; and current secretary of the Schuyler County Landfill Commission. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, with military honors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
