Age 78, of Gillett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday (April 20th) from 12noon-2:00pm at the Chemung Christian Fellowship Church, 726 Main St., Chemung, NY 14825. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm at the church; Pastor Randy Stilson officiating. The committal service and burial will be held at Hanlon Hill Cemetery. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fritz “Junior” Janowsky; sons, Ivan and William Janowsky; three grandchildren, Jason, Kara, and Max Janowsky; and one great-grand-daughter, Tayia Janowsky; brothers and sisters, Florence (Harold) Langeland, Norman Chandler ( Ellen Wolcott), Delores (Ora) Whipple, Robert (Lila) Chandler, Mary Foster, and Dale (Leona) Chandler. She was predeceased by her parents, Alva and Louisa Chandler; grandson Jorden; and six brothers and sisters, Asa Chandler, Albert Chandler, Annamae Waltman, Betty Bubacz, Alva Chandler Jr., and Sarah Bargesser. Joyce was a loving and caring person. She was a devout bingo player and loved playing cards. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose - Horseheads Chapter # 1832; and the Ridgebury Sportsman Club. Memorial donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to her church.
