Kathy Jo (Ballinger) Hough

Age 53, of Avoca, NY, passed away unexpectedly from heart complications in post-surgery on November 16, 2025. She was surrounded by her sister (best friend) Rebecca Hammond and all 4 of her children; son, Levi & fiancé Taylor, daughter & son-in-law Jasmine and Hunter; daughter Destany and boyfriend Johnathan; daughter Sage; her cousin Pam and her husband Grady Reppert; her highschool friend Patricia Finch; as well as her caretaker and good friend Tom.

She was born on March 29, 1972, in the town of Hornell, N.Y. and was the only child to Ronald Ballinger and Lois (Miles) Ballinger.

Kathy adored her children and grandson even more on a daily basis as they were her pride and joy. She spent her free time crocheting and recently enjoying nights out at bingo again. Everything she owned had sunflowers on it as they were her trademarked favorite flower. She took a lot of pride and commitment in taking care of her 2 Puggles, which have been handed down and adopted in the loving care of her eldest daughter and husband. Kathy Jo was an enthusiast in making homemade hand soaps and essential oils to give to friends and family. She also very much loved and cherished reminiscing about memories of her loving Mother, Lois.

She is survived by her father Ronald Ballinger of Lodi, N.J.; children; son, Levi Hough (fiancé Taylor Rice) and grandson Halston Hough of Bath, NY; daughter, Jasmine (Hunter) Lee of Bath, NY; daughter Destany Hough (boyfriend Johnathan) of Beaver Dams NY; and daughter Sage (Daisy) Hough of Rochester, NY; and cousin Pam (Grady) Reppert of Avoca, NY

We are making this fundraiser to try and get some help to be able to pay for the expenses of cremation, as that was Kathy's wish. We are getting a headstone for our mother and our grandmother, where they will be laid to rest in the Onondaga Cemetery in Bath, NY. There will be a celebration of life for both our mother and grandma next year sometime in the spring, as we are conjoining that celebration. Any donations will be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
