Leonard A. Miller

Age 85, of Lindley, NY, went to be with his Lord, on September 19, 2023. 

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church, 213 E. Fifth St., Watkins Glen on Friday (Sept. 22) from 3-4pm; followed by a funeral service at the church at 4pm; his son Pastor Jeffery Miller will officiate.  His burial will be held at Hope Cemetery in Corning on Saturday (Sept. 23) at 11:00am. 

He is survived by loving wife of 64 years, Frances Miller; three children Randy (Sara) Miller of Manchester, CT; Jeff (Diana) Miller of Dansville, NY; and Ginger (Wayne) Martin of Jersey Shore, PA; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild due in November.  He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Thomas Miller.

He was born in Corning, NY, the son of Arnold and Gertrude (Smithyman) Miller.  He grew up in Painted Post and graduated from the Painted Post High School class of 1957.  Upon graduating, he enlisted and honorably served 2 years in the United States Army.  His early road in ministry started at the Corning Church of the Nazarene. He later served at First Baptist Church of Watkins Glen for 30 years, retiring in 2018.   In addition to pastoring, he spent a long career in the sheet metal fabrication industry.  He loved hunting, fishing, and was a classic car enthusiast.  But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
