Lola Knapp

Age 93, of Watkins Glen, died on August 12, 2009.

She is survived by her son, Leonard Knapp; daughter, Linda McIntyre; granddaughter, Laurel McIntyre; sister-in-law, Helen Huey; nieces Jackie Gublo, Jill Gaylord, and Jane Leszyk; nephews Bob Ormsbee, Charles Knapp, and Lee Huey; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Leonard "Buzz" Knapp, and son-in-law, Richard McIntyre.

Lola graduated from Watkins Glen High School and Geneseo College and was a teacher for 25 years, beginning at the Glen Creek one-room schoolhouse and retiring from the Watkins Glen Elementary School, where she taught second grade.

She was a steadfast and supportive wife and mother, a caring and thoughtful friend, and a willing and reliable community volunteer and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Friends are invited to the First Presbyterian Church, Sixth and Decatur Streets, Watkins Glen on Sunday, August 16 at 9:30 a.m., where her memorial service will be held in conjunction with the regular summer Sunday worship service.

A coffee hour gathering in Lola's memory will follow immediately after the church service, in Fellowship Hall.
