Age 74, of Cortland and Elmira, NY, passed away September 14, 2014. The family will receive visitors at their home on Saturday, Sept. 20th from 1pm-5pm at 510 Grove St. in Elmira. Private funeral services will be held at the family’s convenience. She was predeceased by her husband Paul E. Smith, Sr. in 2007 and sisters, Leola Young, Lois Jackson and Lela Bell Hodge. Loretta is survived by her children, Belle (Alan) Overbaugh of Dryden, Lyle Young of Interlaken, Glenn Rathbun (Wayne Harris) of Elmira, Leon Rathbun of Interlaken, Christopher Smith of Albany, Paul Smith Jr. of McGraw, and Robin of DeRuyter; brothers and sisters, Lawrence Hodge of Seneca Falls, Linda (Paul) Rathbun of Trumansburg, Lorna (Buck) Hathaway of Dundee, Lyle Hodge of Philadelphia, PA and Larry Hodge of Orange, TX; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loretta was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan and lover of animals. Memorial donations may be made to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435 RTE. 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
