Lyndon Owen Marshall

Age 90, of Watkins Glen, passed away on December 6, 2010.


The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Thursday from 5-8pm; a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, Watkins Glen; Rev. Beverly Karr-Lyon officiating. Burial at Seneca Union Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.


He is survived by his loving wife Jayne Marshall, whom he would have celebrated his 68th anniversary with today; son, Robert E. (Susan) Marshall; sister, Agnes Holmes, of California and formerly Watkins Glen; grandchildren, Christie Coolican, Brian Coolican, Robert Marshall Jr., Leanne (John) Komnick, Matthew (Angela) Marshall, Jamie Lynn (Mike) Gabe; great-grandchildren, Addison Coolican, Molly Coolican, Josaiah Komnick, and Aubrey Gabe.


He was predeceased by a sister, Lucille Marshall and recently predeceased by his daughter, Shari Felix.


Lyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church with his wife since 1954. In 1942, Lyn enlisted in the US Army-Air Corp shortly after his marriage. He served in WWII as a Fighter Pilot with P40’s and P51’s, in the Asiatic Pacific and China-Burma-India Theaters.


Later, Lyn served as plant manager for Watkins Salt and Cargill. He also served as a past president of the Watkins Glen Chamber of Commerce and past board member of Schuyler Hospital, and a life member of the American Legion.


Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen or charity of one’s choice.
