Marjorie Dibble

March 7, 1931 — September 3, 2021

Marjorie Arlene “Marge” Dibble

Age 90 of Dundee, passed away early Friday morning on September 3, 2021 at the Geneva General Hospital. She was at peace with her loving family at her side.

Marge was born on March 7, 1931 in Springwater, New York to the late Charles and Hazel (Lyon) Menz. Her early years were spent in the Naples and Wayland areas. She was a graduate of The Penn Yan Academy, class of 1948.

She was married to Harold Dibble on December 2, 1950 in the Dundee Baptist Church. The couple would go on to have two children. Marge was an excellent homemaker. She had dinner on the table every night at 5pm sharp. She particularly loved that time of year when fresh vegetables could be served from Harold’s garden. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making clothing for her children. Once both children reached school age, she was offered a position at The Dundee State Bank, where she stayed employed until 1993. Her hard work and beautiful smile were missed upon her retirement.

Marge took a lot of pride in the upkeep of her home and flower gardens. She had a special fondness for collecting and restoring antiques. She loved reading and baking. Her apple pies and cinnamon rolls were in high demand at any family gathering. She also enjoyed traveling. She had trips to Hawaii, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Dominican Republic. One of her most treasured vacations was a trip throughout all of Europe with her sister. She had most recently flown to Arizona to visit her great-grandson.

She was often spotted around town walking her dog. Her four-legged friends always held a special place in her heart and provided a great deal of companionship.

Marge was well loved by her family which included 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She could always be counted on to attend birthday parties, school plays, dance recitals and graduations.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her son John (Ana) Dibble of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and her daughter Kathleen (Harry) Humphreys of Watkins Glen, NY. Her five grandchildren, Erika Humphreys of Palmyra, NY, Kristen (James) Sorce of Himrod, NY, Nicole Huckabee, Jason and Sarah Isabella Dibble of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Her five great grandchildren, Carter Humphreys of Flagstaff, Arizona, Chelsea Humphreys of Palmyra, NY and Noah, Emma and Luca Sorce of Himrod, NY. Her sister, Irene Mustard of San Diego, California and several nieces and nephews.

Sadly, Marge lost her husband Harold to cancer in 1986 and more recently her brothers, Durwood and John Menz.
