Michael C. Voorheis

Age 58, of Burdett, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, which he built with his own hands, on August 5, 2024.

Mike was a contractor and project manager for McPherson Builders in Ithaca where he made many friendships over the years. He graduated from Watkins Glen Highschool and studied Engineering at Cornell University. 

He is survived by his children, Brennan Voorheis and Miranda (Tim) Crawn, both of Montour Falls; parents, Charles and Carolyn Voorheis; sister Brenda (Jeff) McCormick; grandchildren whom he adored, Hunter, Paisley, Caleb, and Brinlee; and former wife and friend, Tammy Voorheis and niece Danielle and nephew Travis. Michael was an avid outdoorsman who loved traveling making many memories with his family. He especially enjoyed the moments taking Hunter hunting and teaching all the grandkids how to fish in his backyard pond. He was loved and will be greatly missed.  

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
