Obituary

Patricia A. Hodge, 78, of Penn Yan and formerly of Rock Stream, NY, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 29, 1948, in Montour Falls, Patricia was the daughter of Edward and Lona (Thompson) Perigo. She was employed for many years as a talented seamstress at Michaels Stern and was a loving and devoted housewife.

Patricia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crafting, playing cards (especially euchre) with family and friends, and spending hours working on puzzles. She will be missed by friends from the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club, where she enjoyed volunteering. She had a kind heart, a creative spirit, and treasured the time she spent with those she loved most. Her family was the center of her world, and she delighted in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.

Above all, Patricia will be remembered for her big heart and generous spirit. She was the kind of person who would give whatever she had to help someone in need and never hesitated to put others first. Her love was shown through countless acts of kindness, quiet sacrifices, and unwavering support for her family and friends. Whether sharing her time, offering support, or creating something special with her talented hands, she found joy in caring for others. The warmth and generosity she shared throughout her life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She was predeceased by her former husband of many years, Jack Hodge, in 2013, and by her parents, Edward and Lona Perigo.

Patricia is dearly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack II and Eva Hodge of North Tonawanda, NY; her daughters, Sheila Backer and Rollin Orr, whom lovingly shared their home with her, and Kimberley Smith of Rock Stream; her brother, Edward Perigo II; her sister, Sylvia Johnson-Hoke; her grandchildren, Cory, Sonja & Dom, Briana, Brandon, and Hunter; her great-grandchildren, Anthony and Jack; several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and her beloved grand-fur baby, Reese.

Family and friends are invited to call at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th Street, Watkins Glen, on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee at 4:00 p.m. followed by a reception at 5:00 p.m. at the Penn Yan American Legion, 2001 Himrod Road.

Patricia’s warmth, creativity, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
