Age 90, of Burdett, NY and formerly of Warminster, PA, passed away on October 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Rene was born on September 26, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Rene and Margaret Despo. Rene honorably served in the US Marine Corps in WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater and the Occupation and Reconstruction of Japan. He worked for Verizon Telephone Company in Trevose, PA.
He was a loving and tender gardener. One can describe him as being in-tune with the earth. Everything he grew, he grew intuitively with love and care. He also enjoyed baking and canning and sharing the fruits of his labor with other people. He was a lover of music, baking and eating at Chef’s Diner in Montour Falls almost every day.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy. Survivors include five daughters, Amey (Daniel) Clark, Evelyn (Tim) Jenkins, Margaret Atkinson, Dorothy (Ron) Czajkowski, and Anita Davis Jolly; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was greatly loved and will be more greatly missed.
