Age 63, of Tyrone and formerly Clarence, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10am-11am at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, followed by a memorial service at 11:00am. Richard, “Dick” or “Bucky” as he was known by his friends, worked as an electrician with IBEW Local #41 of Buffalo and later IBEW Local #241 of Ithaca. Dick and his wife moved 15 years ago to the shores of Lamoka Lake, where he loved spending time in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Dick was born in Buffalo, NY, one of six children, to the late Mearle and Ruth Bucklaew. He was also predeceased by his sister, Marguerite; and father-in-law Paul Bowers. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara; daughters, Sara Bucklaew of Tyrone, and Jaclyn Bruner of Corning; grandsons, Andrew and Jacob Bruner; mother-in-law, Mildred Bowers of Buffalo; siblings, Wray (late Brenda) Bucklaew, John (Kerry) Bucklaew, Joyce (Paul) Meyer, and Jim (Carol Zwolinski) Bucklaew, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Mary) Bowers, Douglas Bowers, Richard Bowers, Thomas Bowers, Laura (Henry) Brozyna, and James (Melissa) Bowers; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
