Age 64, of Hector, NY, passed away September 15, 2012. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday (Sept. 18th) at 1:00pm at the Hector Presbyterian Church, Rte. 414, Hector, NY; followed by interment with military honors at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Kersey, PA at the Kersey United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 2:00pm. Dick was born on June 1, 1948 in Ridgway, PA, the son of the late John and Alma (Yonkie) Frederick. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Shirley Rhines, Marion Salvatore, and Alice Lang, a brother, Clarence Frederick, and step-son, Jimmy Mosier. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 17 years, Cathy (Mosier) Frederick. They were married in St. Marys, PA on September 29, 1995. He is also survived by his son, Darren (Teresa) Frederick of Clarion, PA; step-son, Robert (Olivia) Mosier of Kersey, PA; step-daughter, Dawn (Bob) Mitchell of Ridgway, PA; sisters, Hazel Taylor of Austin, PA, Esther Lentz of Montour Falls, NY, Grace Williams, Emporium, PA, Kathryn Kline, Kersey, PA, Doris (Ray) Haag of Punxsutawney, PA, Marge (Jack) Rhines, DuBois, PA; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dick lived in the Ridgway and Kersey area until he moved to Hector in 1999. He worked as a mechanic, truck driver and equipment operator for Doyle Vineyard Management in Hammondsport. He loved hunting, fishing and racing. Dick served in the US Army on the DMZ in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a Class A member of the American Legion Fox Post 511 of Dagus Mines, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Valois-Logan-Hector Fire Dept. or the American Cancer Society.
