Robert J. Everett

Age 89, of Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2023.

The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4^th St., Watkins Glen on Thursday (Sept. 21) from 12pm-2pm; followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm.  Burial with military honors at Lakeview Cemetery at 3:15pm.

Bob was born in Dundee, NY on August 18, 1934, the son of George and Harriett Everett.  Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Army in 1957.  After his service in the Army, he returned home and began working for Powers Manufacturing Company (Bucher-Emhart Glass) in Elmira.  He retired as a Production Engineer.

He volunteered his time to many local organizations, including serving 40 years as BOCES board member, vice president and president, as well as member of the Watkins Glen Central School Board of Education , 45 years with Reading Town Council, and a Watkins Glen Grand Prix volunteer.

Bob was a devoted husband and partner to his loving wife of 66 years, Carol (Emmons) Everett. 

He is survived by his wife Carol; son Jeffery (Tammy) of Watkins Glen; daughters Karen (Mark) Storm of Watkins Glen, and Lisa (Kevin) Beebe of Watkins Glen; five grandchildren, Christine (Ken) Pratt, Carrie (Jason Horton) Langley, Joshua (Cecilia Martinez) Langley, Kayla Ellis, and Andrew (Kelee Corey) Rudy; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Aubree, Aslyn, and Kynsley Rudy, Arrah Pratt, Jackson and Hadley Ellis, and Jaden Bailer; sisters-in-law, Ann Beardsley, Mary Lou Haight, Pat (Richard) Pierce; and brother-in-law, Walter (Edie) Emmons; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by daughter Linda Everett, and brother George.
