Robert W. Teed
Age 78, of Rock Stream, NY, passed away January 25, 2022.
Robert was born on March 23, 1943, the son of the late Merle and Mildred Teed. He honorably served in the US Army. Bob was well known as a skilled welder and fabricator, owning his own business and building many race cars. Bob and his friend, Dave Dickerson, founded Head Mechanic Association, a NYS certification program for school bus mechanics. He served as the associations President, Vice-President and Secretary and served on the associations State Board. As a SBDI certified mechanic, he also worked for many contractors, including the Hammondsport, Bath, and Bradford School Districts and for Watkins Glen International Raceway.
Robert was predeceased by his wife Shirley; brother and sisters-in-law, Glen and Andrea Boyce, and Nina Teed; and brother-in-law, David Baker.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin Teed, Bobby (Melissa) Teed, and Artie Teed; daughter Michelle Evans, all of Rock Stream; brothers and sisters, Mark Teed of Millport, Lon (Marion) Houck of Tennessee, Edith Biegel of Arizona, Helen Baker of Tennessee, and Mary Houck of Washington, DC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Mary Campbell of Wayne; 8 grandchildren, Ashley (RJ) Richtmyer of Watkins Glen, Natasha Evans of Horseheads, Anthony (Kaylin) Teed of Hector, Stacey (Kyle) Benjamin of Montour Falls, Zach Teed of Watkins Glen, Trista Teed of Watkins Glen, Allison Teed of Dundee and Dakota Evans of Reading Center; 5 great-grandchildren, Leah and Mya Teed, Grea Teed, Beau Bowen, and Aurora Richtmyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 5th at the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge from 3pm-6pm. He will be interred at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bath at a later date, with military honors.
