Roger P. Bacon
Age 56, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 23, 2013. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Tuesday (Aug 27th) from 2-4pm and 6-8pm; followed by an Elks service at 8pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00am at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home; followed by a committal service and burial at Millport Cemetery. He is survived by his son, Derek (Kristen) Bacon of Watkins Glen; sisters, Faith (Terry) Casbeer of Corning, Shelly (Phil) Jones of North Carolina, and Valerie Bacon; mother, Cindy Bacon of Millport; and two grandchildren, Isabella and Elliana Bacon. He was predeceased by his father, Roger A. Bacon. Roger graduated from Watkins Glen High School class of 1975 and served honorably in the US Navy. He worked as a fork lift operator at US Salt. He also was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 1546 and V.F.W Post 2674. He competed in modified and sprint car racing at various tracks in the area and other states.
