Ronald D. Gascon, 83, of Watkins Glen passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born on May 13, 1943, in Heuvelton, New York, and was predeceased by his wife, Joan Gascon, on June 15, 2020. They were married on November 26, 1982.

Ronald graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1963 and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He went on to build a long and dedicated career, retiring from the Akzo Nobel salt plant in Watkins Glen, New York, after more than 40 years of service.

Ronald will be remembered for his quick wit, his sense of humor, and his ability to turn an ordinary cup of coffee into a two-hour conversation. He loved camping with friends and his club, had a special place in his heart for dogs, and took great pride in caring for his yard. Many will also remember him by the sight of his bright yellow scooter. He was often seen riding around town, waving and smiling, becoming a familiar and welcome sight to those who knew him.

Nothing meant more to Ronald than his children and grandchildren. He was incredibly proud of his family and always wanted to be involved in their lives and activities. His love for his family was at the heart of who he was. We are all a bit lost without him.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Gascon and his wife, Angela, and Sam Gascon and his wife, Ann; his daughters, Debbie Bedient and her husband, Stephen, and Tammy Little and her husband, Jay; his brother, Bill Gascon; his nephews, Bill Gascon and Jack Gascon and his wife, Kathryn; and his 13 grandchildren, Matthew Bedient (Megan), Jared Bediet (Amanda), Kyle Little (Danielle), Amber Little (Aaron), Garrett Gascon, Kendall Gascon, Leah Gascon, Ryan Gascon, Heather Gascon, Stephen Joslyn (Lex), Alex Clark (Ethan), Shawn Joslyn, and Sarah Joslyn (Jacob).

Ronald will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he be remembered for his laughter, his love of family, his kindness, and his zest for life. ❤️

A private graveside service will be held at a future date.
