Roy Calvin Clark
WATKINS GLEN- age 84, was born in Lexington Virginia and born into eternity on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Bath VA Medical Center. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 64 years Joyce C Clark; daughter Valerie (Dean) Tyler; two grandchildren Olivia (Timothy) Parker, Carson Tyler; four great-grandchildren Julia, Beckett, Conall and Brooks Parker.; three sisters Virginia Trussell, Nadine (Johnie) Staton, Doris Sandridge; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Cathy) Cope, Keith (Sandy) Cope, LaVern Dingy, William Facemire; numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by mother Nellie Clark and father Calvin Dale; son Terry Clark; sisters Elizabeth Wright, and Lois Facemire; brother Robert Clark; brothers-in-law William Wright, John Trussell, George Sandridge; mothers-in-law Mae Cope and Ada Walenta; fathers-in-law John Cope, Charles Walenta; sister-in-law Barbara Dingy; grandson Evan Tyler.
He joined the Navy when he was 17 years old, serving on the USS Cassin Young which is now a museum in Boston. He came to Watkins Glen with a buddy while on leave. That is when he met his wife and quickly vowed to live in Watkins Glen. He worked at Woody's Body Shop in Corning for 26 years. He enjoyed cars and racing but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also found joy investing in the lives of his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life in memory of Roy’s life will be at a later date. Everyone is invited to a graveside committal service with military honors on Thursday (Dec. 30) at 2:15pm at Montour Cemetery (TOP ENTRANCE).
