Vernon K. Webster
Age 92, of Rock Stream, passed away April 28, 2022 after a brief illness.
The family will receive friends at St. James’ Episcopal Church, 112 Sixth Street, Watkins Glen, from 10am-11am on Wednesday (May 4); followed by a Requiem Eucharist Funeral Mass at 11:00am at the church. A reception and time to greet the family will follow at the church fellowship hall.
A committal service and internment with military honors will be held on his birthday, July 6, at Pleasant View Cemetery in Reading Center at 11:00am.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marion; son Donald Webster of Watkins Glen; daughter Tina Churches (Bruce) of Branchport; grandson Jeremy Webster (Dawana) of Rhome, TX, and granddaughter Laura Sabatini (Jason) of Trumansburg.
Vernon was a Korean War Veteran who continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1989. He retired from Shepard Niles. Vernon was also a member of the VFW, Elks, and St. James’ Episcopal Church in Watkins Glen. He was also a member of the Mechanics Club and Dundee Flying Club. Memorial donations in Vernon’s memory may be made to St. James’ Episcopal Church.
