Warren L. “Butch” Palmer

Age 83, of Watkins Glen, died July 13, 2025 at Arnot-Ogden Hospital-ICU after heart and kidney disease. He was born on August 17, 1941, son of Warren J. and Ruth (Rarrick) Palmer.

He is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Phyllis E. (Murphy) Palmer. He was blessed with 3 children, Kelly (Jody) Bliss, Kevin (Kathleen) Palmer, and Kyle (Rosana) Palmer; 7 grandchildren, Shawn (Alli) Bliss, Cole Bliss (Kay), Derek Palmer (Elissa), Branden Palmer, Ashley Palmer (Austin), Kayla Palmer, and Luke Palmer.; 6 great-grandchildren, Lily Bliss, Talon Miller, Ajla Bliss, Maverick Palmer, Wyatt Palmer, and Holly Palmer; brothers-in-law, Paul (Lynda) Murphy, Ronald (Martha) Murphy, Mark (Diann) Murphy, and Larry Murphy; sisters-in-law, Martha H. Murphy, Carol (David) Armstrong, and Mary (Frank) Smalley; and many nieces and nephews.

Butch graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1959. He served in the US Navy from 1959-1963. Upon his return, he worked at Shepard-Niles, and then Texas-Eastern, retiring in May 1997 after 27 years.

Per his wishes, there will be no services and he will be cremated. The family would like to give their special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Arnot ICU and “Denner” Day. Donation in his memory may be made to the Reading Community Church.
