WATKINS GLEN-Age 102, former owner of Kendall’s Market in Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was predeceased by his loving wife and dance partner, Genevieve (Landolf) Kendall in 1986 and a grandson, Mitch Kendall. He is survived by his son, Lyndon Kendall of Elmira; four grandchildren, Ken Kendall, Kim Kendall, Sue (Scott) Rodgers, and John (Leigh) Kendall; and twelve great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Warren was born on Baker Hill Road in Watkins Glen, on June 28, 1910, the son the late Harry J. and Mary A. (Sterling) Kendall. Warren studied at Watkins Glen High School, leaving school several months before graduating to work full time at a grocery store. He later became the owner of what became known as Kendall’s Market located on Franklin Street in Watkins Glen, selling groceries and meat. Later in life, he pursued the hobby of dairy and beef cattle farming. He and his wife enjoyed dancing, and Warren continued to polka until 98 years old. A funeral service for Warren will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00am at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., in Watkins Glen. There are no prior visiting hours. A committal service and burial will immediately follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Watkins Glen.
