William Andre Shebel

Age 72, of Tyrone, NY, passed away on June 25, 2023.

Bill was born in New Brunswick, NJ, the son of John and Doris Shebel. He had a distinguished military career, enlisting in the US Army in 1968. He served his country in Vietnam and later became an instructor at West Point Military Academy. Bill's dedication to his country and his commitment to shaping future leaders were truly commendable.

Aside from his military service, Bill possessed a multitude of talents. He was a skilled carpenter who painstakingly renovated or built several homes throughout his life. His passion for culinary arts led him to become an excellent cook known for preparing delectable dishes. With a green thumb, he also invested time and love into gardening and farming.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Sheryl Shebel and their children: sons William and Timothy Shebel; daughter Jessica Shebel; and sons Joshua and Jacob Shebel. He is also survived by nine brothers and sisters: Joy, Pamela, Mary, Susan, Kathleen, Robert, Theresa, John, and Luanne; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, July 7 at 11:00 am at Bath National Cemetery in Bath, NY. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home in Watkins Glen.
