William A. Smith, 72, of Odessa, NY, passed away on April 28, 2012. A graveside service will be held at the Hector Presbyterian Cemetery, 5516 Rte. 414, Hector, NY on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00am. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Diane Smith; 7 children, Steven (Carolyn) Smith, Tony (Gloria) Smith, Robert Smith (Judy Weiland), Rick Smith (Jacqueline Porter), Angie Harbot, William Smith, and Lacey Osborne (Nikolas Arden); 7 brothers and sisters, John H. Smith, Jr., Richard C. Smith, Sandra (Eugene) Willet, Betty (John) Shaffer, Henry C. (Donna) Smith, Linda Byroads, and James R. Smith, Sr. (Linda Smith); 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bill drove truck for Ehrhart Propane and Oil of Trumansburg for 26 years. He was also an assistant fire chief at the Valois-Logan-Hector Volunteer Fire Company. Bill’s greatest joy was his family and he also loved camping, fishing and hunting.
